ZTE Z839 is an upcoming Android 7.1.1 device

ZTE is working on a new smartphone which should be released soon. A ZTE device has been spotted on WiFi Alliance bearing the model number ZTE Z839.

As per the WiFi Alliance listing, the new smartphone from ZTE will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. Other than this, not much has been detailed in the listing leaving us to make our own safe bets.

The upcoming ZTE smartphone, we believe will be the third generation ZTE Maven. Our assumption is based on the model numbers carried by ZTE Maven and Maven 2. While the former is also known as ZTE Z812, the Maven 2’s alternate moniker is ZTE Z831. Logically, Z839 should be ZTE Maven 3.

The ZTE Z839 should be a low cost phone with entry level specsheet. It should feature 5-inch plus display with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC and 1GB or 2GB RAM and 8GB or 16GB of internal storage. Now that the device has appeared online, more information about it should start pouring in. Only then we will be able to tell how far our assumptions have hit the target.
