ZTE owners are in for a treat, as the Chinese OEM has released an update for 6 of their Blade series smartphones which includes the Blade V7, Blade V7 Lite, Blade A610 Plus, Blade A510, Blade A452 and the Blade L5. The update is Marshmallow based, leaving us wondering if these devices will ever receive Nougat.
ZTE mentions that the update brings with it the latest Android security patches, but we aren’t sure if it is January or the February security patch. Other than security patches, the update comes with bug fixes and performance improvements for all six devices.
The security update will be rolling out in stages in the next couple of weeks and you’ll get a notification to download the update once it reaches your device. However, if you’re not the one to wait, go ahead and check for it manually via device Settings » About phone » Software updates section.

Before updating, make sure your device has sufficient charge (about 50%) and also ensure that your important data has been backed up safely. Download the OTA preferably over WiFi than over mobile data.
All of the above mentioned devices belong to the mid-range category with the ZTE Blade V7 leading the group with the highest spec offering. Considering that a good majority of these devices were released in Q1 of last year, we expect these devices to get Nougat update very soon.
