Before you get excited about this device, let me remind you that this is none other than the Zenfone 3 Zoom which was re-branded as the Zenfone Zoom S. The smartphone is set to make its first mark in Netherlands with a price tag of €469. The Zenfone 3 Zoom was originally released back in January this year.
The smartphone compromises of a modest spechseet with the usual set of bells and whistles. On paper it looks great with the Snapdragon 625 SoC and 4GB of RAM. The processor however is a power efficient one so it does sacrifice some power but not at a noticeable rate. The battery on board is huge at 5000mAh which should easily give you two days of power usage.
Asus usually skimps on the displays of its mid range lineup, but the Zenfone Zoom S is lucky to have gotten the AMOLED panel giving the user a great viewing experience. The highlight of the device, as we got to know from the name, is the dual camera setup. The smartphone comes with 12MP+12MP combo complimented with large 1.4 µm pixels thereby enabling good low light performance.

We could say that Asus chose this time frame to re-launch this device given the current onset of the OnePlus 5. The link you’re looking for here is the dual camera setup as it does end up looking familiar. The device also has a decent 13MP selfie camera. The only caveat is that the Zenfone Zoom S runs on Marshmallow and given how the OEM updates devices, it may be a while before we see Nougat happen.
