Toolkits are the best gift for noobs trying to step into the world of Android hacking. Be it rooting, custom ROMs, MODs, Recoveries, or anything that goes to play with the system files. Noobs refrain from all that. But thanks to device dedicated toolkits developed by the vast community of Android users, it gets easier for newbies to begin hacking.

The Asus Zenfone 2, of which the bootloader was unlocked only recently, has just today earned itself a toolkit by user mediocre_coder over at XDA. The toolkit let’s you update to the latest Asus firmware, unlock bootloader, Root, install CWM recovery, OTA updates and get back to stock firmware.

Here’s a description for Zenfone 2 toolkit by the developer himself:

Hi All!
Just out of boredom yesterday I put together a “Toolkit” for this bootloader unlock situation that seems to be extremely confusing throughout the interwebs…. I included the stock image 2.18.40.12 zip for the Z00A-WW (ML551) to start fresh with provided by ASUS themselves via their support site, the 2.19.40.18 OTA update provided by ASUS, the ZenFoneRootKit of whom I’m unsure of I acquired it from but is not my own work, the CWM bootstrapper, also unrecognized creator(apologies, credits will be given ASAP) with SuperSU.zip, and Full instructions for every step along the way (Instructions.txt Provided by me) I also included drivers and one click adb installer to make things as smooth as possible for this process. Again, I’m not the creator of any of the programs provided in this toolkit, just the particular organizer who saw the need to make this process easier for others who want to get the most out of their phone and get more development capable devices ready for our eager hands to play with. I put a lot of particulars in the Instructions so be sure to read them verbatim and everything should work well.

Grab the Asus Zenfone 2 toolkit from the download link below, unzip it and make sure you read the Instructions.txt file inside to get a hang of how this toolkit works. Also, USB drivers and One click ADB setup files are included in the toolkit’s zip file.
