Yu Televentures, Micromax’s sub-brand has unveiled a new smartphone called Yureka Black last week in India. Priced at Rs. 8,999, the smartphone can now be purchased online via Flipkart.
Micromax-owned Yu had been silent for nearly a year. And, just when word had it that Yu is being terminated, the company made a comeback of sorts with the Yureka Black.
The smartphone features a 5-inch Full HD display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 running over it. A 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC along with the Adreno 505 GPU powers the device.

The Yureka Black packs 4GB of RAM which makes it the most affordable smartphone to offer such amounts of RAM. By default, you’ll get 32GB of onboard storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
The imaging department is taken care of by a 13MP f/2.0 Sony IMR258 sensor. There’s an 8MP sensor at the front to take care of selfies. To top it off, it has a 3,000mAh battery to keep the lights on.
It’s, however, disappointing that the smartphone still boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow. As mentioned earlier, the Yureka Black is exclusively available for purchase via Flipkart starting today.
