Yu Televentures — A Micromax and Cyanogen joint venture — has recently announced a beta testing program for the lollipop update which aims at providing the company with some real time feedback before it rolls out the update for the general public.
Any person who owns a Yu Yureka device and is a member of the Yu forum can choose to apply for the position of beta tester. The selections will be made by the Yu team and the lucky few must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement with the company. The company will then provide the users with the latest version of the software to be tested — Android Lollipop in this case — and they can discuss it in a private ” Beta Testers group” on the Yu forums.
However, since the update will be made available via an online link — from where it must be downloaded and installed using flashback or recovery — it means that all the data on the devices will be permanently lost. Also, as stated in the NDA agreement, users are not to share the software with anyone else.
Finally, the users are to provide information by filling in the feedback form so that the company can root out all the bugs and errors.
