YouTube TV for Android now supports Picture-in-Picture mode on Android 8.0 Oreo. In the latest update to the app, Google has started to roll-out this really useful feature.
If you’re someone who is using the YouTube TV app, you will now be able to multi-task and watch videos in a floating window. The feature was introduced as one of the main features in Oreo, and most Google apps already support it.
YouTube was one of the first to support it, but requires users to subscribe to YouTube Red. Picture-in-Picture mode is activated when you tap the Home button while watching something on YouTube. It works the same way on the YouTube TV app. You can then move or resize the floating window as per your liking.

The option is located within the Settings of the app, giving users the choice to completely disable it as well. This is one of the most important new feature in the version 1.11 update. Google is rolling it out gradually, which means that it could take some time to get to you.
In the last update to the app, Google added support for YouTube TV on various streaming devices. The company has also stated that support for Apple TV and some older devices is coming soon. That’s good news. The service is currently available in over 50 countries and costs users $35 for a monthly subscription.
