YouTube’s Android app could be readying a new change that will see ads get much bigger than what we’ve gotten used to over the years.

Whether this has something to do with the new display aspect ratio that is popularizing taller display screens or not is unclear, but what is evident is that YouTube ads are no longer of the same size as before.

We have noticed this change when running non-skippable YouTube ads, where unlike in the past where these ads would take up about 30% of the entire display area, as shown above, they now take up a much bigger display real estate, as shown in the images below.

Since this new ad format is not appearing on all of our devices, it seems Google is probably testing the change first before making it official.
