An update is out for YU Yureka that promises to fix the glaring issues on Lollipop update like, overheating, proximity sensor (screen off when in-call even at distance), jerks and lags, etc. We really hope it fixes out all things. The Yureka buyers are literally too much upset with the Lollipop update that took away more than it brought.
This is the OTA update we’ve got here, that’s flashable directly in recovery. We’ve got the full guide below that covers booting into recovery mode and then flashing the update, so just follow the guide below in order.f all. Double click the .exe file of drivers to begin installation. (Not required if you have already done this.)

Instructions
First method: Recovery
Disclamer: You only are responsible for your device. We won’t be liable if any damage occurs to your device and/or its components.
- Make sure you have stock recovery installed, and not any custom recovery.
- Download the OTA update from above.
- Transfer it to your phone. Remember the location.
- Boot your Yureka into recovery mode:
- Enable developer options first. Go into Setting > About phone. Tap build no 7 times.
- Go back to settings and then choose Developer options.
- Enable Advanced reboot.
- Now, hold power button till a pop-up shows up.
- Tap on Reboot. Select Recovery. You’ll boot into recovery mode.
- Tap on Apply update > Choose from Internal Storage > 0/ > select the zip file you transferred in step 2 above.
- The update will start installing, just hang on. When it’s done, you will be back in recovery’s homescreen. Tap on ‘Reboot system now’. Device will restart and you’ll have the new update running on your Yureka.
Reminder: If update fails for you using OTA file, try the full update, provided in downloads section above.
Alternative method: ADB Sideload
- Make sure you have stock recovery installed, and not any custom recovery.
- Download the OTA update from above. Rename the update.zip file to simple name, like, yu-update2.zip
- Get ADB Drivers installed and working.
- Boot your Yureka into recovery mode:
- Enable developer options first. Go into Setting > About phone. Tap build no 7 times.
- Go back to settings and then choose Developer options.
- Enable Advanced reboot.
- Now, hold power button till a pop-up shows up.
- Tap on Reboot. Select Recovery. You’ll boot into recovery mode.
- Tap on Apply update > Apply from ADB
- Go to the folder where you have the yu-update2.zip, then open a command prompt window there. For this, hold the shift button and right click on white space inside the folder. A pop-up will show up, choose ‘Open command window here’ option.
- Type this in command window and then hit enter key:
adb devices
- You should get a serial no. with device written after it. If you get anything else on command window, it means adb is not working on your PC. Re-install drivers again.
- Then, type this and hit enter key:
adb sideload yu-update2.zip - The update will start installing, just hang on. When it’s done, you will be back in recovery’s homescreen. Tap on ‘Reboot system now’. Device will restart and you’ll have the new update running on your Yureka.
