With the recent release of the new Sony Xperia XZ series smartphones at MWC 2017, it is but a matter of time before the online retailing stores will get their hands on it and now, Carphone Warehouse, a UK-based retailer, has announced the stocking and future availability of the Xperia XZ Premium in black colour on its stores via a press release.

The Xperia XZ Premium, Sony’s latest flagship, consists of a 5.5-inch display and paired with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It carries a 4GB RAM/ 64GB ROM combo and is powered by a 3230mAh battery with Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box.

The flagship also has an IP 68 rating making it water and dust proof and a front fingerprint scanner embedded on the home button. With the addition of a front 13MP and 20MP rear camera, the device is truly the best Sony can offer.

While Carphone Warehouse exclusively mentions the colour black, one is left to ponder whether other colour variants will be available. Although Sony traditionally launches an exclusive colour variant in Japan, it is highly probable that the UK will also get other colour variants beside black.

It is also possible that UK may only get the black variant for sometime until more stocks are available for supply but without any solid information available, all the talk about colour variants and their availability remains pure speculation at this point.

Carrying on with its traditional design while other manufacturers like Samsung and LG are iterating, this shows the level of confidence Sony has in its build and quality. While the previous and current devices are marred with fingerprint issues in the US, Sony has put its best foot forward with the Xperia XZ Premium.

The device is one of the best you will find this year, there is no argument. What remains to be seen is how Sony will price the Xperia XZ premium and its smaller sibling, the XZs.
