If the latest news flowing in from China is to be believed, then we can put it this way that Xiaomi is working on a new phablet which it plans to release by May this year. Successor to the 6.4 inch- Xiaomi Mi Max, Xiaomi Mi Max 2’s look and design won’t transgress much from its parent product.
However, we can see an upgraded assortment of hardware and software in Xiaomi Mi Max 2. The leak, which came in the form of a Weibo post, outlines the specs as well.
Based on that, we assume Mi Max 2 to sport a massive 6.44-inch display panel. The SoC has been upgraded to Snapdragon 660 processor from Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 (Hexa core) / 652 (Octa core) as seen in Xiaomi Mi Max. Under the hood, it will carry 6GB RAM and 128GB internal memory, which again clearly is a jump from the upto 4GBRAM/128 GB ROM combo found in its predecessor.
The battery capacity has also been strengthened in the new phbalet to 5000 mAh battery along with support for fast charge as compared to original Mi Max 4,850 mAh battery.

While Mi Max was shipped with 16 MP main rear camera, 5 MP selfie snapper and Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI OS, the leak does not throw light on these features for Mi Max successor. But we do believe and hope that Xiaomi upgrades the OS to Android Nougat in Mi Max 2.
Although, the leaked specsheet details about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Max 2 paint a beautiful picture, these aren’t the official renders. Neither has there been any confirmation from the Chinese OEM about a May launch of a new phablet. Keeping this points in mind, we would advise you to take this piece of news with a grain of salt.
