According to a new report, Xiaomi has confirmed that they will be releasing the MIUI 9 software update to almost all of its devices including ones from 2013 and 2012. This is great news, as there are about 40 devices that will be benefiting from the new update.

Most Android OEMs forget about devices that are more than a year old, and there’s Xiaomi. The company, as mentioned earlier, will be providing the Android 7.0 Nougat update to most of the 40 confirmed devices. The list contains devices that are 5+ years old, and providing the latest MIUI 9 software for those phones is a really impressive achievement.

What happened to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5?

We’ll get right into the list then, as we’re sure that’s what you’re waiting for. Remember, MIUI 9 is mostly based on Android 7.0 Nougat, but not all devices will get Nougat. For some really old devices, Xiaomi may provide MIUI 9 based on Android Marshmallow. Also, some of the devices on the list have already received the update!
