Xiaomi is planning to use its own portal, mi.com, for selling its Mi and Redmi handsets in India in the future. Currently, Xiaomi is doing its trade with help from Flipkart — who, no less, is cashing in on being the exclusive seller by bringing in Flipkart First subscribers a privilege deal — where it’ll sell the Mi4 in India from February 10.

Xiaomi India Head Manu Jain said it would take his company around three to nine months to work out behind-the-scene stuff. We are expecting the Xiaomi to launch its new Mi Note and Mi Note Pro handsets in India six months from now, around July, as has the case been with Mi3 and Mi4, both of which launched in India only six months after hitting the street in China.

So, it’s very much possible that the very first device that you’d buy from mi.com would be your dream-come-true handset, the Mi Note Pro. Currently, the mi.com serves only as informational outlet.

The first sale of Mi4 handsets begins in India on Feb 10, while there is no word available on Redmi 2 launching in India yet. We’re eagerly waiting to hear Xiaomi on when it plans to release its latest two Mi Note handsets in India, but the July release is all we can speculate.

We could also see Xiaomi release its Mini Box  and Mi headphone in India, as the Indian market is one big opportunity for the company and it looks keen gain a strong foothold here.
