Xiaomi has really stepped up its software update game. As of this writing, more than 10 Xiaomi devices have received updates to Android 9 Pie. The company is expected to update even more devices in the coming weeks, especially considering it has a flurry of devices in the market that are eligible for Pie.

To shed some light on when some of the remaining popular devices will receive Android Pie, Xiaomi has published a short software update roadmap for the Mi MIX 2, Mi 6, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Mi Note 3.

These devices, as per the roadmap, will begin internally testing of Android 9 Pie in Q2 2019. We only have two weeks between now and Q2, but Xiaomi isn’t giving us a specific date, which isn’t unusual in any way.

We know that Xiaomi is already working on MIUI 11, but we don’t expect any of these devices to get their first stable Pie update with the new skin, rather, MIUI 10 will still run the show. Of course, they should still be upgraded to MIUI 11 when the time comes.

Last year, Xiaomi included the Mi MIX 2S in the beta testing of Android P. With more OEMs and devices expected to participate in this year’s Android Q beta program, we expect Xiaomi to include even more devices, among them the Mi MIX 3 and Mi 9 flagships.
