Xiaomi India Managing Director, Manu Jain, in a tweet, revealed that Redmi Note 6 Pro will be launching in India on November 22nd. After launching in Thailand recently, the first sale in India will take place at 12 noon on Black Friday, November 23rd. The sale will be held exclusively on Flipkart, where it is being heavily endorsed.

After the incredibly popular Redmi Note 5 Pro was released earlier this year, Xiaomi is already bringing its successor to the market. Disappointingly, it comes with the same technical specs as its predecessor including the still-powerful Snapdragon 636 processor. The only tangible changes include a second front-facing camera and a marginally bigger screen sporting a notch with a 19:9 aspect ratio.

While the camera hardware at the rear remains the same, the 20MP front camera that we saw in Redmi Note 5 Pro will now be accompanied by a second 2MP sensor that has 4-1 super pixel and AI face-unlock. The rear cameras also seem to have new AI features like AI portrait mode.

Basically, it can be said that Xiaomi is offering a revamped version of the predecessor in Redmi Note 6 Pro instead of a brand new device. We don’t expect a marked change in the price either since it is being sold in Thailand for THB 6,990 (INR 15,300) and is expected to cost about the same in India.

So, is it worth the upgrade if you already own the older device? We’ll let you know once the phone hits the market.
