Putting an end to all the rumors, Xiaomi has finally launched the Redmi Note 5A as well as the Redmi Note 5A Prime at an event in China today. Priced at CNY 699 for the base model (i.e. the non-prime model), the smartphone will go on sale starting tomorrow, i.e., August 22 in China.

As for the specs, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A gets a quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB native storage, 13MP rear camera, and 5MP front-facing shooter.

The Redmi Note 5A Prime, on the other hand, will be available in two models based on RAM and storage. Both of them get a Snapdragon 435 chip but are available in 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage space configurations.

Also, as leaked earlier, the smartphone will allow you to use two SIM cards while also providing the option to insert a microSD card.

Both of the models have a fingerprint scanner on the back, 13MP rear cameras, and a 16MP 76-degree wide angle sensor on the front for selfies alongside Selfie-light.

Rest of the features which include dual SIM, Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and a 3,080mAh battery are common among all the three handsets.

As for the pricing, like mentioned above, the Redmi Note 5A will cost you CNY 699 (approximately $105) while the 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM variants of the Redmi Note 5A Prime will set you back by CNY 899 (approximately $135) and CNY 1,199 respectively (approximately $180).
