Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Note 5A specs and images leak via TENAA

Xiaomi is gearing up to release Redmi Note 4 successors namely Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5A. Targetted at the affordable section, these two devices come have appeared on Chinese certification site TENAA. And thanks to the TENAA listing, we now have a fair idea what these devices will carry and how they will look like.

The premium of the two – Redmi Note 5 – is shown featuring 5.5inch HD display with 1280 × 720 resolution which will be powered by an unnamed 1.4GHz octa core processor. Although TENAA has not mentioned the chipset, it is rumoured to be Snapdragon 630 SoC.

On the other hand, the watered down Redmi Note 5A variant is seen carrying a quad-core processor clocked at the same 1.4GHz speed which should be Snapdragon 425. The display size and resolution remains same as Redmi Note 5 as also the 3000mAh battery capacity.

The difference between the two variants can be seen in terms of cameras and storage. While Redmi Note 5 comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM expandable upto 128GB, the base model packs in 2GB RAM and 16GB in-built storage with capacity for expansion upto 32GB. Coming to the sensor, the premium version boasts of 16MP and 13MP rear and front cameras respectively. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 5A houses 13MP back camera and a modest 5MP selfie shooter.

Both the devices are seen running Android 7.1.1 which should come laden with MIUI 9 skin on top. Another differece between the two comes in the form of fingerprint scanner which we find only on the premium version.

When it comes to color choices, one can choose from a whopping 9 options in case of Redmi Note 5A whicb are – Black, Rose Gold, Gold, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Gray, and Silver. On the other hand, Redmi Note 5 gets bathed in Black, Rose Gold, Gold, White, and Gray colors.
