Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Mi5s, Mi5s Plus Nougat update release: Recruitment begins for beta testers

It’s been long since Nougat was released by Google, so Xiaomi is clearly lagging behind but as is the situation, many mid-ranger devices are yet to taste Nougat sweetness. Good news then that Xiaomi has opened up the beta channel for testing Nougat update now for few more devices.

The devices in question here are the Mi Note 2, Mi5s, Mi5s Plus, all of which were released in Q4 last year with Marshmallow on-board. But they still should have received the update a lot earlier than now. Nevertheless, fans should be satisfied now that it is finally arriving. As for the Xiaomi devices which have received the bump to Nougat, these are the Mi5, Mi Max 32GB, Mi Max 64GB and Redmi Note 4X (Qualcomm).

There are a lot of formalities to go through before you’re accepted as a beta tester. Anybody can apply for the beta program but a few pre-requisites need to be fulfilled before anything else. All problems and bugs are reported using the QQ app. So, make sure to install and familiarize yourself with the same. And of course, you will need to know your way around MIU, ROM flashing and the like.
