Xiaomi hit the jackpot with Mi Mix last year which was first released as a concept phone. It was the first device to come with the 18:9 ratio which other recent flagship products like Galaxy S8 and LG G6 went on to don. Now it’s time for its successor to take center-stage. Dubbed as Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, this smartphone has already garnered a lot of attention, owing to its bezel-less design and specsheet.
If that was not enough, here’s another feature which Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is rumored to sport which shall put it in direct competition with iPhone 8. This is the ‘3D Face Recognition’ feature. A tipster on Chinese microblogging site Weibo has uploaded a screenshot of the upcoming phablet showing the 3D Face Recognition tech.

This Face Recognition feature will be the alternative to fingerprint scanner for unlocking the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. It is good to see that the Chinese OEM is not only working on just the design but also striving towards incorporating some high-tech hardware in Mi Mix 2.
Putting it ahead of its successor, the Mi Mix 2 is said to come with a body-screen ratio greater than 91.3 percent and an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is rumored to sport 6.4-inch dual curved AMOLED 2K display which will be powered by octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 1.90 GHz.
