Xiaomi Mi Max 2 to come in standard and pro variants, powered by Snapdragon 625 and 660 processor respectively

Xiaomi has been working on Mi Max’s successor for a long time now and we believe the release should be round the corner. We have known quite a bit about Mi Max 2 owing to the ever flowing leaks and benchmarking sites. Once again, a new leak has emerged confirming some of its specifications.

As per the latest leak, Xiaomi will release the Mi Max 2 in two versions. The standard version will come with 4GB RAM and Snapdragon 625 processor while the pro Mi Max 2 will sport the latest Snapdragon 660 chipset and 128GB storage, as per the leak, which we believe should be paired with 6GB RAM.

Coming to the display size, the translated version of the Weibo post shows a 6.4-inch display in Mi Max 2 against 6.44-inch screen seen on past year’s model. But we believe an earlier rumor of the upcoming Xiaomi phablet sporting a 6.0-inch display is what we will actually see. The leak also mentions that the 1080 pixels resolution has been kept intact in the 2017 Mi Max. Thus with the screen size reduced and past pixels maintained, we should be seeing more crisp and clear images on that massive screen.

The leak also talks about the battery which it says will be slightly upgraded to 5000mAH from 4850mAH. And all these will come at a maximum cost of 1999 yuan.

The Mi Max is also touted to sport a 12MP rear camera with auto-focus and flash and a 5MP selfie snapper, as per GFXBench listing. The device will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI on top of it.
