The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will soon be ready to shine, given the amount of leaks we’re seeing for the device. We got you a shot of its camera earlier, but today, we have its specs and images out too. Images of the Mi Max 2 showing off the top, bottom and back of the device have made it to interweb today. The current gen Mi Max is now a year old and it seems just about time for a refresh from the Chinese OEM.
The original Mi Max featured a large 6.4-inch display, but the leaked information suggests that Xiaomi may dial the display size down to 6-inch for the upcoming Mi Max 2. Update: Further rumors have suggested that the display size would be quite matching to original Mi Max, at around 6.4-inch. In addition to that, the smartphone may even be powered by the new Snapdragon 660 SoC — which was announced only recently by Qualcomm, and is our choice for the mid-range devices. The smartphone may also feature 4GB of RAM to go along with that powerful processor. Overall the device seems to pack in some solid internals, as revealed by its GFXbench listing.
Unlike the flagship Mi6, which had its headphone jack removed, the Mi Max 2 would not do away with them just yet, as the leaked images show. The main shooter appears to be in the same position as the current gen Mi Max. The fingerprint reader present on the back of the device seems to have a thick border around it, but that could be from the transparent case over the smartphone.

The device is projected to receive a May launch if the rumors are to be believed. It’s interesting to note how thin the line between a phablet and a normal smartphone is, considering that the former averages at 5.5-inch displays nowadays.
