So finally it seems that there will indeed be a youth edition of Xiaomi’s flagship phone Mi 6. A recent leak goes on to show an image of Xiaomi Mi 6C alongwith detailed specsheet.
The existence of a youth edition of Xiaomi Mi 6 has been a matter of debate with the Chinese company officially denying reports regarding the youth variant. This was followed by a report flowing in from Taiwan which once again showed that Xiaomi Mi 6C does exist and will be launched later this year with Surge S2 processor.
Another leak has emerged on Chinese microblgging site Weibo which shows that Mi 6C exists and will run Xiaomi’s in-house Surge S2 processor. For the unawares, Surge S2 is successor to Surge S1 which was launched earlier this year.
Apparently, Surge S2 chipset which is said to power Xiaomi Mi 6C will be manufactured on the 16nm process node, unlike its predecessor which was built on 28nm node. The leak goes on to show that Surge S2 will run octa core (2.2GHz quad-core A73 + 1.8GHz quad-core A53) processor hooked on to either 4GB RAM or 6GB RAM.
Although the leak mentions 12MP and 5MP rear and selfie cameras, past report has shown the phone rocking dual rear cameras of 12MP+12MP resolution, akin to Xiaomi Mi 6.
Coming to the pricing, Xiaomi Mi 6C is reported to be priced at 1999 yuan for the base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM while the 6GB variant with 128GB ROM will cost 2499 yuan.
