According to the Mi website, Xiaomi is holding a product launch event on September 5 in New Delhi, India. While Xiaomi has not revealed the exact device, they are touting the upcoming phone as “Flagship Dual Camera smartphone”. Our best guess is with Xiaomi Mi 5X but since they have not specifically mentioned Mi 5X, take the news with a pinch of salt.
Calling it a historic event, the event is open to Indian Mi Fans only. Indian users need to register for the event before August 31st. In case, the fans outside India want to watch the launch event, they can watch it live via Mi’s YouTube channel.
The Xiaomi Mi 5X features an all metal unibody design, a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The Xiaomi Mi 5X steals the limelight with its 12MP+12MP telephoto dual camera which comes with optical zoom— the same sensors as the Xiaomi Mi 6.
On the software side of things, it is one of the first Mi devices, which comes pre-installed with Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 9. The MIUI 9 is Android 7.1.2 Nougat based. A 3080mAh battery backs the device.
