Xiaomi Mi5c deal: ¥200 off in China for limited time (¥1299 right now)

Xiaomi has released its latest high-end flagship, the Xiaomi Mi6, but the company realizes its appeal to the worldwide consumer market (specifically, China) consists of its ability to churn out device with solid specs and great build at very affordable prices. The company has done that with the newly-announced Mi Max 2 with its 6.44-inch display and 5,300mAh battery, the Redmi Note 4, and the 16GB Redmi Note 4X that was priced at 200 Yuan less than the 32GB model.

The Xiaomi Mi5c made its way onto the market back in early March of this year with Xiaomi’s very first in-house octa-core Surge S1 SoC and a rather affordable price tag (1499 Yuan, or $218 USD). After just three months, the Chinese OEM is placing a price tag on its ultra-affordable smartphone by dropping the price by 200 Yuan down to 1299 Yuan ($191 USD).

The Xiaomi Mi5c has a few things to commend it, including its in-house Surge S1 processor, 64GB of storage, and thin metal unibody along with the Android 7.1 Nougat update the company fulfilled as early as promised.

Its 5.1-inch display is for those who still crave the pocketable smartphone form factor that is losing out to the trend of wider smartphone screens today that are 5.5 inches and higher. The USB Type-C charging is also the trend being adopted by other Chinese OEMs such as OnePlus, Huawei, and ZTE, as well as Samsung, Motorola, LG, Sony, and others.
