Xiaomi usually rolls out two Android OS upgrades to its flagship devices in the Mi series, but given the Poco F1 is the first under the POCO by Xiaomi brand, there have been uncertainties over the status of the phone as far life post-Android 9 Pie is concerned.
At its official launch event, Xiaomi confirmed that the Poco F1 will receive an update to Android 9 Pie in Q4 2018, but there was no mention if and when the device will receive Android Q. Well, thanks to Jai Mani, Pocophone Globals head of product, we now have an answer to this.
We'll do at least P and Q

As seen in the tweet, the Poco F1 will receive at least one other major Android OS upgrade after Pie, that is, Android Q. It is understandable that the F1 will receive a second major OS upgrade for this has little to do with its price and more to do with the specs it packs.

With all Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-powered smartphones set to get OS updates up to at least Android Q, it makes sense that Xiaomi is also considering doing the same for the Poco F1.
