WhatsApp has been testing support for the Animated Stickers for some time now. Earlier they quickly conducted a quick test but we didn’t hear about it again — until today. The animated stickers look to be coming soon now,
The good guys over at WABetaInfo — who else, right — managed to dig into an early preview of the animated stickers that WhatsApp may soon launch. It seems WhatsApp is testing the animated stickers feature across all platforms, whether that be apps on Android and iOS or WhatsApp web client.
In case you are wondering, the Animated stickers are not available for a regular user like you and us right now. WhatsApp is yet to make these features available even in the beta version of the app.
It’s being said that the animated stickers will be available in the form of the stickers pack only and will also be available to download via a third party sticker apps.
They will appear animated in the preview section of the WhatsApp emoji button and will play continuously in chats. Animated stickers are different from GIFs as they don’t stop playing after a while, unlike GIFs.
