As the name suggests, Vodafone’s new low cost handset is a tribute to the Tate Modern and Tate Britain art galleries. The phone was designed by a 19 year old student by the name of Gaby Sahhar, as the winner of a contest collectively held by Vodafone UK and the Tate Gallery.
The theme of the competition was “Another World”, and the winning design by Gaby Sahhar, as quoted by him was inspired by “the ethereal nature of light and movement was a perfect meeting point of inspiration, material and function”
The Vodafone Smart II Tate edition is available at an extremely competitive price of £70 off-contract from Vodafone. or that price, you get a 3.2 inch HVGA display, an 800MHz single-core processor, a 3.2 megapixel camera, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and more.
Plus you get two tickets for the price of one, for any Tate Modern or Tate Britain exhibition, by simply showing your Smart II Tate edition phone at the ticket counter. Do keep in mind though, that this is a limited edition phone, with only 1000 individually numbered phones available. So if you want to get one, you need to move fast before they run out.
