After Google started rolling out the stable Android 9 Pie to the Pixels, HTC went public with news that the update would be made available for the HTC U11+, HTC U11 and the Android One-totting HTC U11 Life. Apparently, Vodafone Australia has already had the time to commence and subsequently hold testing the OS on the U11 Life.

An update made to the carrier’s software updates page on October 19th says the testing process of Android 9 Pie on the HTC U11 Life has been put on hold. The OS has been testing for about two weeks now, but the carrier doesn’t say why the testing has been halted. For how long the process will be on hold remains unknown, but it should be noted that since the U11 Life is an Android One device, we expect a stable release of Pie before the end of 2018.

HTC is expected to make the Pie update available first for the flagship HTC U12+ and then followed by the standard U11 and U11 EYEs, but it is the Android One status of the U11 Life that improves its chances of getting the nod ahead of others in the U11 series. We’ll know more with time.
