On March 19, Chinese smartphone vendor Vivo will hold an event during which the Vivo X21 will be unveiled. This event will be held in China, where the phone that is expected to succeed the Vivo X20 will be made official.
Even with just days before the launch event, the Vivo X21 had remained elusive in the eyes of tech enthusiasts. However, we now have a significant amount of the rumored details regarding the phone ahead of launch, beginning with the specs.
Vivo X21 specs
- 6.43-inch full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 660
- 6GB of RAM
- 128GB of storage
- Android 8.1 Oreo
As noted, the Vivo X21 has managed to stay off the rumor mills up until now, only days before it’s made official. Even so, we still don’t have all the details of the phones, but we know the core features, including the powerful midrange Snapdragon 660 SoC mated with an impressive 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
It’s likely that the Vivo X21 will get a base model of 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Just like the recently-launched Vivo X20 Plus UD, the available invite materials can confirm that the X21 UD will ship with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a notch. This, in fact, is one reason the phone will end up with a massive 19:9 display aspect ratio because the front panel will be maximized to the fullest, if the image above is anything to go by.
According to leaked benchmarks on Geekbench and AnTuTu, Vivo X21 will come preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo.
Vivo X21 price and release date
As pointed out, Vivo X21 will be announced on March 19, which is when we’ll get to find out all the details regarding the phone. Be it the specs, features, price or availability.
Speaking of availability, it’s still unknown whether the X21 will be sold outside China, but it’s likely it could follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Vivo X20. Since it’s a powerful midrange device, we expect a similar midrange pricing, perhaps on the premium side of things.
