When it comes to assigning monikers to smartphones by OEMs, nothing can get more eccentric than this. Some companies have it jumbled up with the alphabets viz Galaxy A, Galaxy J etc., others make it more confusing with their numerical, one such being Vivo which has one of its X-series phones coming up.
Now, the last smartphone from X-series was Vivo X9 and its X9s and X9s Plus variants. We know that the company is planning to launch successor to Vivo X9 which logically should be dubbed as Vivo X10 or Vivo X11 (which even past reports suggested). But seems that’s not the case anymore. There won’t be any Vivo X11 but a Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus.

A tipster on Twitter who goes by the moniker @mmddj_china mentions that next X series phone from Vivo will be X20 and X20 Plus. Reacting to this tweet, another user posted an image of a bezel-less phone citing it to be Vivo X20.
Now, this is the same phone we spotted last month on Weibo said to be Vivo X11. As it seems, there won’t be any Vivo X11 which leaves us only with Vivo X20. The leaked image shows a phone with minimal top and bottom bezels. The side bezels are also negligible.
Interestingly, the next Vivo X series phone is rumored to be launched with an on-screen fingerprint scanner. Coming to the specifications, Vivo X20 could sport either 5.5 inch or 5.7 inch QuadHD display.
As per a Geekbench listing, Vivo X11 (which now should be named Vivo X20) will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor clocked at 1.84 GHz paired with 4GB RAM. The phone is rumored to be shipped with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
Although, there’s no official confirmation from Vivo, we can make a safe guess that Vivo X20 and X20 Plus could be released in November this year.
