New Vivo phone with full screen display and on-screen fingerprint scanner leaked in a video

Vivo X11

It’s not Apple. It’s not Samsung. It will be Vivo, a Chinese smartphone vendor who will be launching the world’s first smartphone with an on-screen fingerprint scanner.

What seems to be the official teaser of the upcoming Vivo phone has leaked online revealing two important things: one, a near bezel-less display and two, an on-screen fingerprint scanner.

Yes, you read the right. An on-screen fingerprint scanner it is! A few days ago, Vivo had teased an image on its social media channels which had the tagline “Unlock the Future.”

Now, it wasn’t very difficult for folks to decrypt from the tagline that the company is referring to an on-screen fingerprint scanner there. In case you are still skeptical about it, we certainly have the proof that Vivo’s next handset will have an on-screen fingerprint scanner. Check out the video below.

Vivo is tipped to launch a new smartphone in partnership with Qualcomm during the MWC Shanghai 2017 event which kickstarts today. There were rumors that the company is planning to launch Vivo X11 with a bezel-less screen. So, the smartphone in question could be the same phone.

Currently, there’s no information on the specs of the smartphone. However, from the leaked video, it’s clear that the device will come with a dual camera setup on the back.
