Vivo smartphone users will soon receive the Funtouch OS 3.0 update that is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The company has announced the list of devices that are eligible for the software update.
While other manufacturers are readying or have already released the Android 7.0 Nougat update, Vivo is still playing catch up with Marshmallow. But that is what you can expect from a manufacturer who isn’t very interested in providing software updates.
The first Vivo smartphone to get the Funtouch OS 3.0 update will be the Vivo X7 and X7 Plus. You will still have to wait till March 26th to get the official update though. A beta will be released for testing on March 7th.
After the Vivo X7 and X7 Plus, the Xplay5A will get the update on April 5, and the X6S and Plus X6s will get it on April 25. So yes, you will have to wait a while till you get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on your devices.
