Vivo 1611 (X9 outside China) release gets one step closer, specs outed at GFXbench

Vivo is preparing to launch the X9 outside China soon, which we knew thanks to the listing over at TKDN, but now it has arrived at GFXbench bench-marking site too.

Sporting the Snapdragon 625 processor along with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, the Vivo 1611 represents a well performing smartphone. In China, the device goes with the moniker of Vivo X9, and also has a sibling in X9 Plus, but so far, we only know about X9 making a trip outside China, currentyl dubbed Vivo 1611.

Things get interesting — and this is what the Vivo X9 is all about, to be fair to device — when you notice the camera specifications. The smartphone comes with a 16MP main shooter, which is quite capable, when it comes to selfie shooter, it blows your mind. The Vivo 1611, like the X9, packs a punchier dual camera on front, housing 20MP and 8MP sensors for best performance.

Previously the device was also spotted on Geekbench, where it snatched the following results in benchmark performance.

The X9 is expected to be shipping with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow aboard. Vivo Nougat update should release in the coming few months within Q1. We’re now seeing a trend of more affordable smartphones with decent specs coming out from Chinese OEMs which surely puts pressure on the top guns to compete in that segment.

As for the Vivo X9 or Vivo 1611 release date, we think the company should be able to launch it in India and Europe in January itself. But if not, then early-February release looks a definite thing.
