Verizon has started releasing a new firmware update to LG’s affordable smartphone K8 V. The new update installs the latest monthly security patch and is a recommended one.
Arriving as software version VS50013A, the latest update brings with it the February security patch to LG K8 V in addition to the regular big fixes and system enhancements. Installing the most up to date Android security patch on your K8 V device, the new software update resolves known issues.
The update being over the air (OTA) is being rolled out gradually and may take some time to hit your smartphone. If waiting isn’t one of your traits, you can check for it manually by heading to Settings » About device » System Updates. Once you find the notification, hit the download button. But before that, make sure your phone is over 50 percent charged and connected to a WiFi network.
The LG K8 V is another variant of the LG K8 with relatively similar specs in a slightly different looking package. It sports a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.3 GHz paired with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD card upto 128GB. It packs in 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP selfie snapper, 2125 mAh battery and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.

Meanwhile, Verzion is also rolling out February Android security patch to LG G Pad 7.0 LTE. Other devices on Verizon receiving the February firmware update are Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Droid Turbo.
