The K8 from LG was a mid range device from LG which was released April of last year. And now we get to see the smartphone get an upgrade with the new K8 being spotted over at FCC with model number LG-VS501, and given the model no. it looks it is the new Verizon K8 we are talking about.
The previous year’s K8 ran on a MediaTek MT6735 chipset and its successor is expected to transition over to the Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4GHz. Under the hood, the smartphone is expected to carry 1.5GB of RAM, a 5MP front camera, 13MP rear camera, 16GB internal memory and a 2500mAh battery to boot.
Even though 2GB has become the norm these days, LG seems to be cutting corners with the 1.5GB of RAM provided with the new K8. Average specs aside, the good news is that, LG might ship the device with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
Looks like LG is beginning to play its cards right with the budget market, given that the OEM was the first to ship Nougat out of the box after it was launched with the V20.
