Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users on Verizon network are receiving a new firmware update which brings the Nougat OS to both the devices. The update is being rolled out as we speak.

Arriving as build number G920VVRS4DQD1 and G925VVRS4DQD1 to Verizon Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge units respectively, the new firmware installs Android 7.0 Nougat. It also tags along the latest security patches and system improvements.

Once updated to the Android Nougat OS, the S6 and S6 Edge devices get a bunch of new features which enables users to customize device and contents. It gives a new look and feel to your two-year old Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones.

Some of the newly arrived Nougat features include battery saving mode, split-window mode, Effects/Filters preview screen for photographs and updated keyboard for improved language predictions.

The OTA Nougat update may take a while to reach your device. Alternately, you can also check for it manually. Go to Settings > About device > System updates. Before starting the software update, connect your device to a Wi-Fi network and ensure your battery is fully charged.
