A new update from Verizon is rolling out now for the BlackBerry PRIV. The OTA based update arrives as software version AAK687 and applies the April security patch to the device. The previous update which went by version AAJ926 was released in March and Verizon has been on an update hiatus till today.
Although Blackberry already has its own in-built security solutions, this security patch also adds an added layer of protection by safeguarding your PRIV from viruses and other threats. The update also includes various other under-the-hood performance improvements as well as other minor system enhancements too.
If the update hasn’t arrived to your device yet, then it may take a while to come as it is rolled out batches. Otherwise, you can navigate to Settings » About » Software update and check manually for new updates.

Before downloading the update, backup your important data to your PC in case something goes wrong during the installation. Also ensure that your device has at least 40% charge before updating and download the update over WiFi so as not to incur additional charges.
