While Android Q update is what that has our full attention now, the hard truth is that some devices are still in the process of receiving Android Pie.
One of those devices is Samsung Galaxy J3 Aura at US Cellular in the US, for which thankfully, the Android 9 Pie update is now available.
Released with Android Oreo on-board, this is the first major Android OS update for the device. And given that J3 Aura is a budget handset, this is also the last major update it gets — yes, it won’t be eligible for Android Q.
The Android Pie update is available for J3 Aura as software version J337R4TYU4BSF3. US Cellular didn’t share the complete changelog, but being Pie, the update gets you cool features like Adaptive Brightness, Adaptive Battery, Gesture Navigation, Digital Wellbeing, Dark mode, App Actions, App Slices, Easier Screen Rotation, improved DND mode, new Material design, etc.
The update also brings Samsung One UI, which completely revamps the UI from Oreo, and installs few nifty features of its own, too.
How to install Android Pie update on US Cellular Galaxy J3 Aura
Step 1: Launch the Settings app.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap About phone.
Step 3: Under about device, tap Software update.
Step 4: If an update is available, you will get a prompt to update. Otherwise, check again a bit later. If an update is available, tap OK and then follow the on-screen prompts to install the Android Pie update.
That’s all!
