The unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ started receiving Android 9 Pie update earlier this month, but for some reason, this update hasn’t been available for those using either phone on Sprint.

This ends today, so it seems. Reports coming in suggest that after the long wait, Sprint users of the unlocked Galaxy S8 and S8+ are now receiving the update to Pie with Samsung’s One UI on top.

To make up for the long wait, Samsung and Sprint have included the latest April 2019 security patch in the update and not the March patch that came with the initial rollout earlier this month.

What still remains unclear is whether the carrier has fixed the LTE issues reported when the OS started rolling out for the first time.

Weighing in at 1.5GB, the update is arriving as version G950U1UEU5DSD5 for the S8 and version G955U1UEU5DSD5 for the S8+. As part of Pie, you’re getting things like Adaptive battery, Adaptive brightness, Night mode, improved notification management, and plenty more.
