Have you been trying to unlock the bootloader on your Sony Xperia device but unable to do so, even when you’re following the official documentation to the word? Well, you might have left the Find my Xperia security setting activated on your Xperia device .
Find my Xperia is a security setting on Sony Xperia devices which helps in finding lost devices. So it makes sense for Sony to not allow bootloader unlock while the service is active in device settings, because doing so would simply let a thief clean wipe the device, and remove any device protection set by the original user.
So, if you’re not able to unlock bootloader on your Sony Xperia device, it might be worth checking if “Find my Xperia” is active.
How to fix:
- Go to device Settings » Security » Protection by my Xperia » and deactivate the service/setting.
Happy Androiding!
