ASUS has made a name for themselves as a manufacturer or high quality Android tablets, as well as a manufacturer who rolls out updates to newer versions of Android extremely quickly after Google releases them. And they look to be continuing their commitment to software support, as Tablets Magazine is reporting that ASUS is working on updating the Transformer Prime to Android 4.2 very soon.

Still called Jelly Bean, Android 4.2 brings along features such as Photo Sphere in the camera for 360 degrees panorama shots, lockscreen widgets, a new keyboard with Gesture Typing (Swype-like typing), Daydreams screensaver function that displays pictures and other info when the device is docked or charging, multiuser support for tablets, improved Google Now along with new info cards, and also improved stability and performance.

If the update does come to the Transformer Prime, and hopefully other Transformer tablets, no doubt ASUS will further strengthen their position as the top Android tablet manufacturer. As for when the update will start rolling out, we’ll let you know pending further info.
