Motorola’s Moto G series is very popular thanks to its budget-friendly price vis-à-vis specs and features that punch above its level. This is what you get in the current Moto G6 and G6 Plus handsets revealed in May 2018, the first in the series to come with the trending 18:9 display aspect ratio. But it seems things are about to get even better with the upcoming Moto G7 and G7 Plus.

If you weren’t so happy that the Moto G6 and G6 Plus missed out on the notch craze, well, it appears that the Moto G7 and G7 Plus will be joining the party, at least at the right time. This is because the notch’s design has evolved over the past one year and based on the latest renders by YouTuber Waqar Khan, we are looking at what could be one of the best-looking Moto G handsets.

From the images, the Moto G7 and G7 Plus will adopt a water drop notch like what we’ve seen on the Oppo R17 and the newly launched Huawei Honor 8X Max. Besides the front-facing camera, the notch will also house an earpiece that we wish doubles as a speaker.

The overall design of the phone is curvy and so are the edges of the display screen, which has a significant chin at the bottom end. On the back of the Moto G7 and G7 Plus sets will be a familiar-looking dual-lens camera setup and a fingerprint scanner right below it, but details of the specs under the hood remain unknown for now.

What is obvious, though, is that the Moto G7 and G7 Plus will come preinstalled with Android Pie out of the box and will be eligible for Android Q update.

We have months between now and the potential launch of the G7 family, so be sure to create room for more of these rumors and leaks.
