Yesterday, we told you that Samsung had stopped the rollout of the second Oreo beta update for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in the US. This was due to an error that caused the phone app to crash. They stated that a new update, with a fix, was in the works and would be released soon. Well, the new update is now being seeded to the users.

Samsung is rolling out a new Oreo beta update for the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The build number ends in ZQK8 and weighs about 46.82MB for unlocked S8+, while for the T-Mobile S8, 137.89MB. (size could easily vary). This is most likely just a bug fix update, and we’re not really sure whether to call it the third beta, but let’s call it that to keep track of all OTAs.

Full software version of the third Oreo beta is G950USQU1ZQK8 for carrier-locked Galaxy S8 (should be G955USQU1ZQK8 for the S8+), while for the unlocked S8+, it’s G955U1UEU1ZQK8 (thus, should be G950U1UEU1ZQK8 for the unlocked S8).

As mentioned above, in the second Oreo beta, some users were seeing an error that caused the Phone app to stop working. The ‘com.android.phone‘ process kept crashing, which is bad news. Not to worry though, as this update fixes that.
