The Galaxy J4 Core gets all set for release

Following the launch of the affordable Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+, Samsung seems to be gearing up to launch a new budget phone. We’re talking about the Galaxy J4 Core (SM-J410F), which has just received certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance. This means, the smartphone could very possibly go live in a few weeks. The device has been previously spotted going through the FCC.

Given that Samsung has a Galaxy event scheduled for October 11, it might not be surprising to see the Galaxy J4 Core make an appearance then.

Anyway, the Galaxy J4 Core will probably be an Android Go phone. Given that the Korean tech giant has used the “Core” moniker recently with its Galaxy J2 Core model, we can expect the Galaxy J4 Core to be part of the same program.

Android Go is an initiative by Google designed to offer a lightweight version of Android optimized for entry-level devices that come with low amounts of RAM and storage.

And since the Galaxy J4 Core is expected to feature similar specs as the regular J4, the phone might ship with only 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, making it a viable candidate for the Android Go family. Other specs could include a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, a quad-core Exynos 7570 SoC and a 3,000 mAh battery.
