One of the largest wireless carriers in the United States, T-Mobile, has started rolling out an update for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, bringing the July 2019 security patch to the 2018 Samsung flagship smartphone.
T-Mobile hasn’t been very reliable with its update lately, leaving most users dissatisfied with its service.
This update, which carries software version G960USQS6CSGB for the T-Mobile S9 and G960USQS6CSGB for the T-Mobile S9 Plus, weighs in at around 185MB and ups the devices’ security patch level to July 1, 2019.
If you were holding your breath for the Night mode camera update, you are bound to be disappointed with this release, as it doesn’t include the much-anticipated addition.
As it’s an incremental OTA update, it could take a while for your device to get the update. To check for it manually, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Repeat the process a couple of times if you don’t get the update immediately.
The Galaxy S9 is eligible for the next big update, Android Q. You can expect Android Q update from Samsung for the T-Mobile S9 and S9 Plus sets to arrive sometime in March-April 2020.
