Seems Samsung’s decided T-mobile Galaxy S6 is the phone that will serve as launchpad for all its major software updates. We’re now hearing that a new Android 5.1.1 update has gone T-Mobile S6’s way, with the build no. G920TUVU2DOF8 — this comes right after the device received the first Android 5.1 update from Samsung few days ago, with its twin Galaxy S6 Edge.

We have a changelog available of the latest Android 5.1.1 update, the OF8 in short, and it seems about bringing ‘Device stability improvements, bug fixes’ (RAM fix in tow?), ‘New and/or enhanced features’ (RAW support in camera?) and ‘Further improvements to performance’ (general pick for all OTAs!). The size of OF8 5.1 update is 323.76 MB and we are yet to see a full Odin TAR firmware make warm appearance. Once we do, we will be sure to share it with you of course. The update was leaked by none other than Sunderwear, big thank to him for this!

The update was received over the first Android 5.1 update, OF6, so maybe it’s the base for the OF8 update. If you have a T-Mobile Galaxy S6 on Android 5.1 OF6 update, be sure to go to Settings > About phone > Software updates, and then tap on ‘Check for updates’. You could see the notification too.
