When it comes to monthly security patch updates, there’s no denying that locked devices on carriers are at a great disadvantage. At a time when unlocked devices are receiving the March security update, T-Mobile is rolling out January security patch update to Galaxy Note Edge units.
The Galaxy Note Edge devices on the Magenta carrier are receiving the monthly update over the air which is Android Marshmallow based. Arriving as firmware build number N915TUVS2DQB1, the update installs the January security patch. It also tags along with it performance improvements related to domestic data roaming as well as bug fixes.
The update being OTA is being rolled out gradually and should reach you very soon. In case you want to check for it manually, you can do that by heading to Settings>> About device>> System updates. Before hitting the download button, ensure that your Galaxy Note Edge device is over 50 percent charged and connected to a WiFi network.

Meanwhile, the unlocked Galaxy Note Edge devices have started receiving the March security patch while the device users on Verizon have reported receiving the February security patch. The security update with firmware build number N915GXXS1DQB2 is hitting the unlocked Note Edge units. On the other hand, Verizon is seeding out the February security update as build number N915VVRS2CQB2.
