It’s been more than a month since the update to Android Pie for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners begun rolling out in Europe and Asia, but it’s only a couple of days ago that the OS arrived in the U.S.
Sprint and Boost Mobile were the first to record the update to Android Pie with Samsung’s One UI and earlier today, we reported about the arrival of the OTA on AT&T variants, which also included a Pie update for the Galaxy Note 8.
Now, it seems users of the S8 and S8+ on T-Mobile are next in line, with the firmware already floating online carrying software version G950USQU5DSC1 for the former and G955USQU5DSC1 for the latter.
Similar to their Sprint and AT&T counterparts, the S8 duo will also be upgraded to the latest Android security patch level – March 2019 – after this update. T-Mobile has also included Stir and Shaken, band 28 support, and enabled RCS over 2G/3G in this update.
Being an OTA rollout, it will take several days or even weeks before all S8 units on the Magenta carrier receive the download notification.
You have the option to wait for the OTA to arrive, but if you can’t, now would be the perfect moment to start nagging the software update button in the settings menu to see if the file is ready to download on your S8 or S8+ handset.
