Sprint users in the US are seeing a new software update for their LG G6. The update includes the latest Android security patch, and some important bug fixes.

The version number of the software update is LS993ZV9 and it is available over the air. This is a recommended security update, as it patches the BlueBorne exploit, and installs the November Android security patches.

Those who have received the update are also noticing small UI changes, wherein the Signal Meter is now shown as bars. Apart from these changes and improvements, you may not notice anything different. The update will, however, enhance the security of your smartphone.

If you’ve received the update and are about to install it, then make sure your device has more than 50 percent charge. This is an OTA update, so it is necessary that your device remains connected to a stable Wi-Fi or Cellular network when downloading.

The LG G6 recently received a similar update in Canada, but with the October security patch. Sprint also released security updates for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ earlier this week.
