The Spring Galaxy S8 smartphones are receiving a new software update with bug fixes and improvements. Sprint Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ users should receive the update in a few days time via OTA.

The software build number for the Galaxy S8 is G950USQU1AQJH, and for the Galaxy S8+, it’s G955USQU1AQJH. Of course, these updates are based on Android 7.0 Nougat, as the Oreo update is still in beta for both devices.

The most important aspect of this update is the patch for the KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability. Finally, Sprint users can rest easy knowing this has been fixed. The update also installs the October Android security patch on the devices. There’s also a bunch of other fixes and improvements.

For example, improvements have been made to the SMS client and SMS delivery system. Some users were facing issues with SMS, as it would take very long to deliver. That has been fixed in this update. Also, power saving enhancements are now available for third-party apps.
